Becky Buttons

Later the same winter Becky lived on Market Street, she and I drove to Richmond to help our mother move into an apartment in a shiny new high-rise on West Grace Street. Becky unpacked Mom's button box, a cache of treasure that had fascinated and entertained us since we were toddlers, when we would string buttons together for necklaces, sort them, make up stories about them, and generally keep ourselves out of Mom's hair with them.

Becky can't let a funny opportunity pass unexploited. I'll still be laughing at this when I go to my grave:
